Man evolved to the extent that it is capable of dealing with their myths and destroy, but to do also need to know them apart, because there are real myths and fake myths.

THE TWILIGHT OF THE MYTHS

The great myths, through history, have always enslaved humanity as sadistic tyrants. What at first were childish ways of men to interpret the facts, then became misleading headlights, useless to overcome the darkness around.
The man willingly was enslaved for his own myths. He clung to them or created new ones. He believed in them or wanted to believe in them and adorned with enormous illusions to fool himself into a deadly trap, since he could never quench his thirst in nonexistent water.
Hunger for eternity is a terrible hunger, inherent in man and conscious of their transience as such, lacerating of moment by moment of every life that he lives. The terrifying fear his fleeting passage through the world and it disintegrated in a "nothing" to he really fears. So, the man is the easy prey of the vultures of the spirit and manufacturers of false symbols.
Countless prophets or apostles arose at different times, enunciating new ways to satisfy the spiritual hunger that gnaws at the man.
And many creations followed like Reforms of: Religious , philosophical, economic, political, sociological, humanistic, scientific, metaphysical, theological and eschatological doctrines of post mortem communication.
And always, each of these doctrines or pseudodoctrine is constituted in a symbol and transformed into myth, sharing a common place to all: use the myths created as aged weapons, to strengthen them and revitalize them with the euphoria of believing to have found a new formula for a new ideal. So, all myths are based on the same foundation: the blindness of the man and his hunger for eternity.
But the man has not been created to walk eternally in pursuit of a long distant horizon, and as the cycles eventually end, so must end the cycle of darkness.
The time has finally come and the decline of the myths has begun ... After that... aurora will born.
